Book the Four Seasons if budget allows: at $2,874 a night it delivers I.M. Pei's soaring limestone tower, a genuinely large spa, and the kind of quiet, uncluttered service Billionaire's Row is built for. The Plaza at $1,562 is nearly half the price and buys you Fifth Avenue's most famous facade and the Palm Court, at the cost of a lower guest rating and the churn of nearly ten times the review volume. Both sit on the same three blocks by Central Park, so location is a wash; this is really a choice between modern minimalism and Gilded Age theatre.

Not much - double espressos at the bar were quite pricey (2 for $50) , however perhaps expected at a nice hotel.
