Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus is the sharper booking: $312 a night, a 9.6 guest rating from nearly 4,800 reviews, and Bosphorus views from a rooftop bar most guests never tire of. Çırağan Palace Kempinski costs three times as much at $952, has fewer but still excellent reviews at 9.4, and only edges ahead on facilities with a hot tub. Both sit within 0.6 km of each other on the Bosphorus in Beşiktaş, so location is a wash. Book the Conrad unless the Ottoman palace experience itself is the point of the trip.
Çırağan Palace is a genuine 19th-century Ottoman palace, built for Sultan Abdülaziz, its marble facade running along the Bosphorus shoreline with the modern hotel wing behind it. The palace rooms have gilded ceilings, marble columns and a sense of imperial theatre that no contemporary build can fake; the garden and terrace look straight across the water to Asia. It draws guests who want to say they slept in a sultan's residence, and are willing to pay for that specific, non-repeatable atmosphere.
Travellers who want the specific experience of staying inside an Ottoman palace and can absorb the price.
Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus is a large, contemporary high-rise in Beşiktaş, its rooms done in the clean, neutral palette typical of the Hilton portfolio's upper tier, but built around one real asset: the view. Manzara Restaurant and the 14th-floor Summit Bar&Terrace both look out over the Historic Peninsula and the strait, which is where the hotel earns its keep rather than in the room design itself. It suits guests who want a big, well-run business-hotel base with a spectacular outlook, not a historic building.
Travellers who want a highly rated, well-located Bosphorus base with excellent food and bar views for a fraction of the cost.
At $312 versus $952, the Conrad's only listed shortfall is the absence of a hot tub; everything else on the facility side is matched.
Çırağan Palace is the more beautiful and characterful place to be, simply because it is an actual 19th-century palace and not a hotel built to resemble one.

“Absolutely gorgeous! The attention to details is at the highest levels, everything is impeccable!”
“Okan and Xavier, both you went extra mile.”
Guests at Çırağan Palace Kempinski come away happier, as reviews describe a consistently flawless, impeccable experience with no complaints, whereas Conrad guests, though very pleased with staff, note occasional room view or minor nuisance issues.

“Great one day stay in Istanbul”
The front desk staff was extremely helpful. We booked two rooms for our family of four. As Diamond members, our rooms were upgraded - one to a suite and one to a sliver Boshporus view. Both were very much appreciated. We did have to request our keys be granted access to the Executive Lounge (that's not automatic). The lounge was excellent. Breakfast was good, but the view is phenomenal. Just be careful sitting out
