The honest take
Tomtom Suites is the sharper booking at $256 against $1,117 for the Four Seasons, and it actually rates higher with guests despite the huge price gap. The Four Seasons earns its premium through the site alone, a former Ottoman prison steps from Hagia Sophia, plus pet, fitness and parking facilities Tomtom doesn't list. If you want to walk out the door into the old city, pay for the Four Seasons; if you want a boutique room with a view and don't need a gym or valet, Tomtom is the better use of money.
The look and the feel
Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet
This building was an Ottoman-era prison before Four Seasons converted it, and that history still shapes the bones of the place: thick masonry, a central courtyard now planted as a garden, and a sense of enclosure that reads as calm rather than grim. Rooms lean neoclassical with Turkish artisan touches, kilim-inspired textiles and marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs. Seasons Restaurant sits in a glass pavilion within that courtyard, so breakfast and the Sunday brunch happen under daylight with garden walls around you rather than street noise. It draws an older, quieter, expense-account crowd who want to be inside the Sultanahmet monument zone without dealing with it.
Guests who want ground-floor access to Sultanahmet's monuments and full five-star infrastructure, including a gym and parking, and are willing to pay for it.
Tomtom Suites
Tomtom Suites occupies a former Franciscan convent in Galata, on a steep, narrow street of the kind that empties into Beyoglu's nightlife but stays hushed itself. The listing points to Carrara marble bathrooms with private spa baths and a rooftop terrace with views across to the Marmara Sea and Sultanahmet's skyline, which is the room to actually book this for. Nicole Restaurant does a rotating Turkish-Mediterranean menu, and the whole place reads as boutique-scaled rather than grand: fewer than a hundred rooms, personal service, a design sensibility that trades palace scale for intimacy.
Travellers who want boutique character, a rooftop view, and Beyoglu's bars and galleries on their doorstep at a quarter of the price.
At $256, Tomtom Suites gives up the Four Seasons' fitness centre, on-site parking and pet-friendly policy, plus the sheer scale and staffing of a global five-star brand.
The Four Seasons wins on architectural weight and garden calm, but Tomtom's rooftop over the Bosphorus and its converted-convent intimacy make it the more memorable room to wake up in.

Pros: Unbeatable location for touring Sultanahmet (old town), especially for first-time visitors to the city. Exceptional staff: very attentive and friendly. Excellent restaurants--breakfast was great and dinner at Avlu was top-notch. Luxurious comfort, yet not ostentatious. The room was spacious and clean, the pillows and linens were a dream, as were the towels and bath products; the room temperature was easily
Cons: The shower pressure in our room could have been better.
Such a quiet neighborhood. Staff upgraded our room complimentary and it was a truly lovely stay. Breakfast was top notch.

“Just say yes!”
Everything!
The staff from reception to the roof top restaurant are very friendly and helpful, great communication even before the checkin. Rooms as they are in the photos and then some.
The extra details also turn this place into something special, tips and tea and pillow spray for a goodnight sleep, pillow options, evening music on the TV, bath salts. We had a lovely welcome letter for us as it was an anniversary
