Book The Setai. It rates higher (9.1 vs 9), costs $669 less per night, and gives a more considered, calmer version of Miami Beach luxury than the EDITION's nightclub-and-ice-rink circus. Ian Schrager's EDITION occupies the old Seville hotel, gutted and rebuilt with a theatrical, slightly camp energy: an actual ice skating rink indoors, a subterranean bowling alley, a nightclub that runs late. The public spaces lean tropical-moderne with dark wood, brass fittings and lush planting, built for people who want to be seen moving between the pool, the Matador Bar and the dance floor. It's a hotel as nightlife venue with rooms attached.

The Setai
The Setai is calmer and more architecturally coherent: a restored 1930s Art Deco building fronted by a taller tower, with interiors done in an Asian-minimalist register of dark teak, limestone, and still water. Three tiered infinity pools step down toward the beach, the suites are done in muted tones with espresso machines and iPod docks rather than disco lighting, and the whole place favours quiet courtyards and long tables over spectacle. “Its a 10 / 10 hotel great location, all staff including the beach staff a 10.Rooms lovely & modern”
The hotel location is 5 mins away from the hustle and bustle so the noise isn't to loud, its right on the beach with a great running or walking path to keep you in shape

“Lovely hotel but construction noise awful”
Lovely hotel. Well located. Pool area very nice. Room also very nice.
Major construction next to the hotel so very noisy from 6am. Major problem for anyone on a holiday. Hotel did compensate us but we wish they and booking.com had told us before we went so we could make an informed choice. Was too late once we arrived.
