The honest take
Hotel Eden comes in at $1,384 a night with a 9.5 guest rating against Six Senses Rome's $1,527 and 9.1. Both are five-star and neither lists a facility the other lacks, so this is a straightforward call on price and reputation. Book the Eden for the rooftop dining and the Via Veneto address; book Six Senses if you specifically want to be steps from Piazza Venezia and prefer its newer, wellness-inflected building.
The look and the feel
Six Senses Rome
Six Senses Rome occupies a restored 16th-century palazzo just off Piazza San Marcello, and the brand's usual language of sauna, evening entertainment and kitchenette-equipped suites is grafted onto that old stone shell. Expect a lobby that plays with contrast: heavy Roman walls against contemporary furniture, a spa element folded into a historic footprint rather than a purpose-built resort. It suits travellers who want the wellness resort format but insist on being in the old centre, a few minutes' walk from the Trevi Fountain and the Corso.
Guests who want a spa-and-wellness five-star experience inside a historic shell, right at the foot of the Trevi Fountain area.
Hotel Eden
Hotel Eden has stood above the city since 1889, on the ridge near Via Veneto, and under Dorchester Collection management it plays it straighter and grander: classic Italian furnishings, satellite LED televisions folded discreetly into old-world rooms, and La Terrazza restaurant on top with what the listing calls panoramic views over the domes and pines of Rome. Il Giardino handles the quieter meals. This is the hotel of La Dolce Vita-era Rome, all polished parquet, gilt mirrors and waiters who have worked there for decades, rather than a design experiment.
Guests who want classic old-Rome grandeur, a rooftop restaurant with a view, and the Via Veneto address.
Neither lists a facility the other lacks, so the difference is not amenities but address and atmosphere: Six Senses sits closer to the ancient centre, Eden sits higher up near Via Veneto with its own famous rooftop dining room.
Hotel Eden is the more beautiful place to actually be, with its 19th-century grandeur, rooftop views and unbroken decades of old-school Roman glamour outweighing a newer wellness fit-out in a borrowed palazzo.

Location
From the very beginning, I would strongly advise guests not to rely on the prices shown on Booking.com for this hotel, as the rates are extremely overpriced compared with the actual quality of the stay and service.

“Such a Great Hotel”
The style of this hotel is beautiful, and the staff are amazing. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect as well. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I really enjoyed my stay
The only downside was the limited variety of food options on the Bivium restaurant menu. I would have appreciated having more choices available.

“Best hotel in Rome for that level”
Location, design, atmosphere, international jet set, gym and Spa are top notch
The price might be exaggerated depending on the season but…
They charged me 22€ after I leave and i don't know why!
I paid all the bills before i go

“An exceptional luxury experience with impeccable service and unforgettable hospitality. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
The hotel exceeded all expectations. The staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. The room was elegant, spotless, and very comfortable. The location is excellent, offering beautiful views and easy access to the city’s main attractions. The breakfast was outstanding, and every detail reflected the high standards of a luxury hotel.
Honestly, there was very little to dislike. If I had to mention something, the stay was too short to fully enjoy all the hotel’s facilities.
