The honest take

Book the Waldorf Astoria unless you specifically want the Four Seasons' non-casino calm and pet allowance. At $429 versus $656, the Waldorf undercuts by over $200 a night while offering a far larger spa complex with hot tubs, plunge pools and lap pools on its eighth-floor terrace. The Four Seasons rates slightly higher with guests (9 vs 8.5) on more reviews (660 vs 486), and it's the one to pick if you're travelling with a pet or want golf access. Both sit on Las Vegas Boulevard, 1.7km apart, so location isn't the deciding factor here — price and facilities are.

The look and the feel

Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas

The Four Seasons occupies the top floors of Mandalay Bay's tower but runs its own separate entrance, lobby and elevators, so you never touch the casino floor below — a deliberate architectural sleight of hand that gives it the calmest lobby on the Strip. Marble floors, soft neutral tones, floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the mountains and the Strip lights, and a private pool that's genuinely quiet by Vegas standards. It reads less like a resort and more like a well-run city hotel that happens to be in Las Vegas, which is exactly its appeal.

Guests who want a genuinely quiet, casino-free base on the Strip and are travelling with a pet or want golf nearby.

Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas

The Waldorf Astoria (formerly the Mandarin Oriental) sits inside CityCenter, a glass tower designed with the cool, restrained palette typical of that development — pale stone, dark wood accents, floor-to-ceiling glass with Strip views. The eighth-floor terrace is the standout space: a 27,000 square foot spa complex with cabanas, multiple pools and hot tubs, plus small touches like sunglass cleaning and frozen fruit service. Twist by Pierre Gagnaire and the Sky Bar give it a French, slightly more theatrical dining identity than its rival.

Guests who want a serious spa and pool terrace and don't mind a busier, glass-and-stone CityCenter setting for less money.

At $429, the Waldorf gives up nothing on the facility list except a pet policy and golf access — the gap between the two is really about the Four Seasons' quieter, casino-separated setting rather than missing amenities.

The Waldorf's eighth-floor spa terrace, with its stacked pools and cabanas against the CityCenter glass, is the more striking space to spend an afternoon in, though the Four Seasons' separate lobby is the better place to simply sit and not feel like you're in Vegas at all.

“Really really great!”

Very high standard. High floors mean excellent views. Right at end of boulevard therefore quiet and not busy with tourists walking through.

Nothing!

“An Oasis in the Desert”

This was the most seamless hotel stay we have experienced in a long time. Every detail was perfect from check-in to checkout. It's a beautiful, clean, tranquil place steps away from the casinos and attractions, and everything else Vegas has to offer. But when you return at night, it's quiet. We stayed in a spacious, junior king suite with a city view. It was lovely, with a large bathroom that had a separate shower

“Will definitely consider other hotels next time”

Very Clean. Great location.

Absolutely not flexible on booking cancellation with refund or even reschedule. I had emergency situation- they won’t consider. Pool closes too early, at 6 pm. Additional charge for late check out, additional bed etc. on the top of basic fees.
