Book the Waldorf Astoria: it rates higher on review count trust, costs $429 versus $603, and offers the same five-star tier without the casino noise. Encore is the pricier pick, justified only if you want to be inside a casino resort with golf access. Both sit on the Strip within 2.4km of each other, so location is not the deciding factor. On facilities and price, Waldorf wins.
Encore is Steve Wynn's follow-up to Wynn Las Vegas, designed with the same rich, saturated palette: deep reds, gold leaf, floral carpet patterns, and floor-to-ceiling windows pulling in desert light. The suites run large with a residential, slightly maximalist décor, more like a private apartment than a hotel room. Downstairs, the casino floor and two nightclubs mean the building never really goes quiet, and the energy of the Strip's gaming culture is baked into the architecture and the crowd.
Encore suits guests who want to be inside the casino and nightlife action, with golf as a bonus.
Waldorf Astoria occupies part of the Palazzo complex but positions itself as the calmer, casino-free counterpoint on the Strip, with a 27,000 square foot spa, heat and water experiences, and an eighth-floor terrace with cabanas and plunge pools. The interiors lean toward quiet luxury: neutral tones, glass, and restraint rather than spectacle, with dining anchored by Pierre Gagnaire's French fusion cooking and a proper afternoon tea service. It draws a guest who wants five-star Vegas without stepping onto a gaming floor.
Waldorf Astoria suits guests who want five-star comfort, spa time, and quiet without casino noise underfoot.
Booking the cheaper Waldorf Astoria means giving up on-site casino access and the golf course that Encore offers.
Waldorf Astoria is the more beautiful place to actually be in, trading Encore's gilded spectacle for restrained materials and a spa terrace that gives the eye somewhere calm to land.

“amazing resort, just very pricey.”
“This was the most seamless hotel stay we have experienced in a long time.”
Waldorf Astoria guests come away happier, praising a seamless, quiet stay despite some fee gripes, whereas Encore guests love the amenities but complain more about high prices and crowding.

“amazing resort, just very pricey. excellent hotel gym but DO NOT go 7-9am”
suuuuuuper nice room. we stayed in the Wynn not the newer encore. every restaurant was amazing, the pool and pool service were amazing, every staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. cons: very expensive. ie $30+ for a sandwich. basically everything is 2-3x what you'd pay off the Strip [i'm a local, we were on a staycation]. other thing is i'm a gym rat, been to literally hundreds of gyms esp during my many years o
“An Oasis in the Desert”
This was the most seamless hotel stay we have experienced in a long time. Every detail was perfect from check-in to checkout. It's a beautiful, clean, tranquil place steps away from the casinos and attractions, and everything else Vegas has to offer. But when you return at night, it's quiet. We stayed in a spacious, junior king suite with a city view. It was lovely, with a large bathroom that had a separate shower

Quiet, great location, great room

“Will definitely consider other hotels next time”
Very Clean. Great location.
Absolutely not flexible on booking cancellation with refund or even reschedule. I had emergency situation- they won’t consider. Pool closes too early, at 6 pm. Additional charge for late check out, additional bed etc. on the top of basic fees.
