Both sit at 9.8 with huge review counts, but the Ritz-Carlton comes in nearly $300 cheaper per night and adds a rooftop the Four Seasons doesn't list. The Four Seasons occupies the waterfront in Central, a five-minute walk from the Star Ferry, while the Ritz-Carlton is 1.9km away across the harbour in Kowloon, stacked into the top of the ICC tower. The look and the feel

The Four Seasons sits low and horizontal on the Central waterfront, all floor-to-ceiling glass looking straight across to Kowloon, so the harbour is at eye level rather than something you look down on. The interiors mix Western and Chinese decor with the kind of restraint that lets the view and the light off the water do the work. It houses Lung King Heen, the first Chinese restaurant to get three Michelin stars, and Caprice for French food, so the ground floor has a genuine culinary weight to it rather than being a lobby with restaurants attached. This is the hotel for people who want Hong Kong at sea level, with the Peak visible behind you and the ferries crossing in front.
Right for guests who want to be at the water's edge in Central, near the ferry piers and the financial district, with Cantonese and French cooking on site worth the trip alone.
The Ritz-Carlton
The Ritz-Carlton occupies floors 102 to 118 of the ICC, one of the tallest buildings in the city, so the entire hotel is a vertical experience: the check-in desk itself is somewhere in the sky, and every room looks down over Victoria Harbour rather than across it. The rooms lean modern and glossy, Nespresso machines and big windows doing most of the talking, and the hotel spreads across five restaurants including two Michelin-starred ones and Ozone, one of the world's highest bars, plus Almas Caviar Bar. It draws people who want the spectacle of altitude and are happy to be in Kowloon rather than Central.
Right for guests chasing sheer height and view, who don't mind being based in Kowloon and want a rooftop and caviar bar as part of the package.
Nothing structural is missing from the Four Seasons' side of the list; the Ritz-Carlton simply doesn't have the ground-level harbour position, so what the Four Seasons gives up at $930 a night is the vertigo and the rooftop, while the Ritz-Carlton at $632 gives up the sea-level waterfront address.

“Great afternoon tea”
This was my first time here. The view was amazing, the tea was excellent and I loved the Earl Grey so much I wanted to buy some to take home. The pastries were also delicious and generous in portion size. The staff (especially Mr. Freeman) was lovely and very polite, and even offered complimentary treats. I was impressed with everything. I had a wonderful time and will definitely return.
