Overall the stay was very pleasant until after the check out, I found out that lost my jacket at the hotel room, so I called them. It took them a couple of days to search for it and told me no. It was at the changing room.. but I was told they did not find it.
Cheval Blanc Paris vs The Peninsula Paris

Book the Peninsula Paris unless money is truly no object: it is $909 a night cheaper, has 119 reviews behind its 9.6 score against Cheval Blanc's single review, and adds a rooftop the other lacks. Cheval Blanc sits directly on the Seine by Pont Neuf, which is the rarer address and the more romantic room view. Both are five-star with spas, pools, multiple restaurants and 24-hour service, so this is a choice of setting and character rather than facilities.
Cheval Blanc Paris
Cheval Blanc occupies the old La Samaritaine department store, a 1900s Art Nouveau and Art Deco shell reworked by Peter Marino, all curved staircases, coloured glass and brass against a very white, very hushed interior. The rooms look straight over the Seine to the Louvre, and the top-floor pool and spa sit under a glass roof with that same river light pouring in. It draws an art-and-fashion crowd who want to be seen arriving rather than seen at the bar.
Cheval Blanc is right for anyone chasing the single best address on the Seine and a design-forward, art-world atmosphere, at design-forward, art-world prices.
The Peninsula Paris
The Peninsula occupies a Belle Époque building near the Arc de Triomphe that once housed the Hotel Majestic, restored with a formality closer to old Paris than to Marino's white minimalism: gilt, dark wood panelling, chandeliers, a marble lobby that feels institutional in the best sense. L'Oiseau Blanc restaurant and its rooftop bar look out toward the Eiffel Tower, and the whole place runs on the quiet, precise service Peninsula properties are known for. It suits a guest who wants grandeur without ostentation, and a view instead of a river.
The Peninsula is right for guests who want classic Belle Époque grandeur, a rooftop view of the Eiffel Tower, and a lower price with a far larger track record of reviews.
The Peninsula's only listed gap against Cheval Blanc is the absence of a rooftop, though it clearly does have rooftop dining and bars of its own, so what you really give up by choosing the cheaper property is the riverside Louvre view and the newer Peter Marino interiors, not any missing amenity.
Cheval Blanc is the more striking place to simply stand in, because Marino's reworking of the Samaritaine shell and its river light is a genuinely singular piece of design, where the Peninsula is superb but a more familiar kind of grand-hotel beauty.

“My fifth stay at The Peninsula Paris, I love everything about it.”
Peninsula guests give richer detail, praising staff and food while flagging a few service slip-ups, whereas the single Cheval Blanc review offers only unqualified praise with no specifics.
